In six months, the Lausanne facility has attracted 90 consumers wishing to test their drugs. The canton is considering the future of the programme.
In October 2022, Lausanne inaugurated its drug checking centre, following in the footsteps of Basel, Bern, Geneva and Zurich. Nestled in the premises of Pôle Sud in Le Flon, the centre allows partygoers to test the quality of their drugs so that they don’t consume them blindly. If the drug is too pure, or has been mixed with other dubious substances, they are free to get rid of it or split the dose. To help them see things more clearly, the analysis is followed by a free, anonymous interview.
